'Curating the Woodland' is an ongoing artistic initiative through which MASEREEL commissions contemporary artists to develop permanent interventions in direct dialogue with the wooded landscape surrounding its facilities. Initiated in 2019, the project continues to evolve organically over time.
A series of permanent installations is dispersed across the MASEREEL site (and surroundings), including three new interventions realised in 2025 within the framework of the RHIZOMA biennial. Each work functions as an autonomous gesture, engaging a specific location and contributing to an expanding open-air constellation of artistic practices.
Visiting
The interventions are situated outdoors and can be experienced during MASEREEL’s public programmes, including exhibition openings, public events and OPEN MASEREEL, when the entire site is accessible to visitors. The installations by Pei-Hsuan Wang and Wim Cuyvers remain accessible to the public outside opening hours.
