From March 12 till May 16, 2026, Tim Van Laere Gallery will present a solo exhibition featuring the renowned Belgian artist James Ensor. This exhibition is curated by Ensor expert Herwig Todts along with Tim Van Laere, founder and director of Tim Van Laere Gallery.

In the exhibition “Ensor: Portrait of the Old Master as a Young Artist” the vibrant work of the elder artist takes center stage. A man who continues to surprise with his innovative spirit. Alongside, we’ll present a select, equally striking group of large charcoal drawings by the young artist. Beyond the iconic, canonized images we know of Ensor, he proves—and continues to prove—to be the creator of paintings and drawings that could easily belong to our own time.
