Preview Screening of 'Our Forest, Our Champions': A Documentary by Mauro Van Reusel

On September 12, the preview screening of 'Our Forest, Our Champions' will take place at De Studio. The documentary is the master’s thesis project of Mauro Van Reusel.

The film follows the story of Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo, and portrays the remote communities on the slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda. Through an observational approach to everyday life, the documentary explores how nature, nutrition, traditions, and high-altitude living have helped shape generations of elite athletes.

At the same time, the documentary raises questions about the impact of climate change on the region and how changes in the landscape are also affecting its cultural and social fabric.

Mauro Van Reusel created the documentary as part of his master’s thesis at Sint Lucas Antwerpen.

The screening is open to the general public.
