Summer in the City
Although most spaces are currently closed for a short summer break, there are still plenty of galleries, museums and art spaces which have prepared a bustling program for this month. In this newsletter we've highlighted some outdoor exhibitions to discover during your summer strolls through the city.
At the Cockerillkaai, you can visit ‘Time. And Again’, an exhibition in public space where artist Ken Lum creates a new series of billboards that question our relationship to work. At Stadspark, you can see the second edition of 'Public Figure’ by artist Goshka Macuga. Public Figure is a series of temporary commissions, where a disused stone plinth offers contemporary artists the opportunity to add new figures to this vacant space and by doing so, reflect upon the meaning of public representation today. At GALLERY GALLERY Che Go Eun presents ‘Cabinet of Hearts’, a digital collage on the front window of the gallery, visible until the end of August. The work is part of a new concept where each year, one artist will be invited to install a work in direct relation to the public space and will be continuously displayed during summer closing.
