Marc De Blieck

Am gleichen Ufer

Welcome at the opening of Marc De Blieck ‘s solo exhibition ‘Am gleichen Ufer ‘ on Sunday 8 September 2024 (3 / 7 pm)

Marc De Blieck (° 1958, Belgium) is known for his meticulously detailed images of world heritage sites and museums, which he prints on Japanese paper using carbon inks.
In his 2nd solo exhibition ‘ Am gleichen Ufer’ at the Annie Gentils gallery, Marc De Blieck shows recent works, some of which continue to build on the idea from the 1st exhibition ‘Traces’ in 2021: namely that images are traces of lost actions.
In recent years, Marc De Blieck has experimented with colour ink and Awagami paper with photographs depicting blossoms, flowers or domestic objects. New are the images of waterfalls, which mark a new direction in his work.

It may be said that throughout his photographic oeuvre, Marc De Blieck has always remained a painter. His photographs are much more viewing pieces than registrations.
‘In looking together, an indirect commonality arises, free of hierarchy’ (Marc de Blieck).
We will show new works by Marc De Blieck at Paris Photo in November along with works by Marie Cloquet and Pieter Laurens Mol.
