“My paintings are like residues of things that were once much clearer and more resolved. They function like visual memories: traces of perturbed, calm or even exited states of mind that have now passed. Intimate records of experience and transformation. Intimate records of experience and transformation.
The paintings explores the language of painterly abstraction made available by recent art history, much as experimental musicians push jazz standards to their limit without making them unrecognizable. Certain gribs, empiric knowledge and practices are repeated in new combinations, constructing new images in a recognizable randomized system. Rhythm and repetition in the hart of this practice.”
