Europeans avant-la-lettre through their art. It is the optimism of this young guard that Kurt Lewy sought to connect with. We consider it a privilege, together with the Jewish Museum of Belgium, to dedicate a publication to his work, the first in over thirty years. We hope that this special artist will thereby once again claim his place on the postwar abstract art scene and that the general public will become better acquainted with this artist.
