Around the end of 2019, NICC organized the growing exhibition project "Zonder kunstenaars geen kunst” (Without Artists No Art) at M HKA. This was an artistic reaction to the precarious situation of artists created by the government. For more than three months artists created a visual and artistic resistance against the funding cuts (-60%) on culture by the Flemish government.
We invited the 62 participants of this project again to contribute to a publication with the question of how art can react to urgent matters. The production of this publication will be visible at BOTANICC from Monday the 5th until Sunday the 18th of April.
BOTANICC will be the production space with a risograph printer and racks for the prints to dry on. During these two weeks, the participating artists, together with a co-printer, can print and it allows the artists to add something to their contribution on the spot.
The production is visible for visitors:
BOTANICC is open on Thursday and Friday from 10h till 17h and by appointment, please mail to info@nicc.be
