C A S S T L is proud to present The Plastic Number, a book launch and exhibition of new works by Ben Van den Berghe and Alexey Shlyk.

The Plastic Number is an ongoing study of escapist aesthetics in which the artists incorporate elements from modernist architecture, trompe l’oeil techniques, ratio-balance and color theory a.o. to create photo-collages that transform spaces into ‘photographic architecture’. For this exhibition a series of new sketches for future scenographies will be presented along with a book launch of “The Plastic Number” (published by KRIEG) and the screening of a documentary on Mies van der Rohe’s iconic Barcelona Pavilion.
