C A S S T L Presents: The Antwerp Premiere of "Adriaen Brouwer anno 2018" a film by Guillaume Bijl

C A S S T L presents screenings and premieres of films by Guillaume Bijl.

C A S S T L will screen the Antwerp premiere of Guillaume Bijl’s latest film “Adriaen Brouwer anno 2018” (2018). The Tour of Flanders Centre asked visual artist Guillaume Bijl to create a work linking Adriaen Brouwer to the "Tour of Flanders". Guillaume Bijl decided to shoot a film which is part of an arts installation exhibited at the Centrum Ronde van Vlaanderen during the Adriaen Brouwer events in Oudenaarde. Eight amateur cycle racers meet at a location near the Oude Kwaremont in the municipality of Kluisbergen. Then they start to climb the mountain. They end up in a local pub where they get well and truly bladdered. We become the viewers of a contemporary Adriaen Brouwer scene. The parts of the amateur cyclists are played by visual artists and by one famous cycling champion.

C A S S T L will also screen the making-ofs of “Bidet Museum” (2002), “Supermarket” (2002-2003), “James Ensor in Oostende” (2000), “De Feestelijke Herdenking van het Graafschap Watou” (2002) and of “Adriaen Brouwer anno 2018” (2018).
