Joëlle Tuerlinckx works in an intuitive and direct way: she works immediately in the exhibition space, in its scale and proportions, in its light. The study of the different options and the comparison of different results determine the shape of her projects. The space becomes her studio and her material… whereas time, time going by, the present is exposed.

Tuerlinckx’ attention, and not without humour, is drawn to what is already present in the space, sometimes almost absurd details such as small cracks in the wall. For her, these are also expressive. So by confusing the limits between exhibition space and work, it happens that an unprepared visitor hardly notices her work. In Tuerlinckx’ world everything can be exhibited. Everything is 'Culture Kultur Cultuur' announces the paper DAGBLAD LLS Paleis n°1 which is conceived for the inauguration of the new space.

What is exhibited differs only slightly from what was already there, because what is and what will become have the same value. What the visitor can expect is miscellaneous. The curtains open….and finally only his attention is required. Joëlle Tuerlinckx’ objects, sculptures and murals relate to what is already existing, and renew and mark it as a trace, for LLS Paleis and its first visitor. All her work basically deals with a beginning, is an address….
