Callewaert Vanlangendonck Gallery shows four Belgian artists who worked and lived in Paris. Jan Saverys (1924-2017) studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in 1951. Willy Anthoons (1911-1982) moved to Paris around 1949, where he joined the artists around the painter Geer van Velde. Michel Seuphor (1901-1999) made Paris his hometown in 1925 and was at the epicenter of the first abstract art movement, being one of the closest friends of Mondrian. Pierre Alechinsky (1927) went to Paris to study engraving at Atelier 17 under the guidance of Stanley William Hayter in 1951. All four artists were at the same time in Paris and knew each other.
