It has become a tradition at IBASHO to celebrate the Summer on the first Saturday of August, the same day as the Museumnacht Antwerpen. We invite local businesses who are engaged in Japanese culture, ranging from tea to Japanese food, saké to ceramics. You are welcome at our Japan Market 2025 on 2 August from 14:00 - 19:00. Delicious bites will be offered by Pongyi. Our friends Dirk and Kristien from Hopsaké will be back to offer surprising saké tastings and bring their newest saké finds. And Farah from The Noodle Agency will present delicious Japanese teas that were personally selected at the tea farms by Farah. The Japanese artist Akio Momota has made delicate porcelain ceramics for Mitsubachi, that will be presented at the Japan Market. And Sanne from Fakapapa is passionate about Art, Crafts, Vintage and Kokeshi in specific. She will bring a selection of these attractive wooden Japanese dolls.
And, it will be the finissage of 'the Turtle and the Monk', the enchanting solo-exhibition of Anaïs López, visual artist and storyteller.
