Luc Deleu & T.O.P. office — Founder’s Choice

On the occasion of the publication of the book Founder’s Choice — a richly illustrated overview of the activities of T.O.P. office, compiled by Luc Deleu and published by Hopper & Fuchs — Muhka brings together a selection of the artist’s works for an INBOX presentation.

Since 1970, Deleu has been building an architectural and artistic oeuvre with T.O.P. office: from small-scale interventions to world-encompassing concepts, and from (never realized) proposals to completed architectural projects. With a critical view of the role of architecture and urban planning, and through radical imagination, Deleu reflects on the workings of the world. He challenges us to continually reconsider the spatial presence of humans and its consequences for our planet.

About Luc Deleu
Since 1970, Luc Deleu (b. 1944, Antwerp) and his T.O.P. office have been exploring the boundaries between architecture and art. His work stems from radical ideas that are both visionary and playful: from stacks of containers to concepts of cities on a global scale. In his Urbanistic Manifesto (1980), he already advocated for urban planning that encompasses the entire planet. Deleu’s interventions invite reflection on how we use space and live together. He does not see architecture and art as opposing fields, but as two sides of the same way of thinking.
