Damien De Lepeleire

MAGNIFICE

With MAGNIFICE, Damien De Lepeleire once again shows his fascination for art history. The new series of works he painted in Naples this summer are inspired by mosaics and frescoes from Roman culture. Art historian Dr. Roxanne Loos wrote: "From the encounter between sculpture and painting, which is in fact the mosaic floor, De Lepeleire only preserves the essential, often removing himself from the figurative register in order to concentrate on the rhythmic, repetitive, geometric aspect of tiled floors. " The Inferno’s Floor paintings will be exhibited with a new body of work: Masterpieces from the Chiaramonti museum in Rome painted in Naples by Damien from the family of Herons, commonly called Damien De Lepeleire.
