In 1988, Marc Kennes (Wilrijk, 1962) first exhibited at gallery De Zwarte Panter, marking the start of an ongoing cooperation. Within the new figurative genre of painting, Kennes recognizable style is self-defining. His current exhibition ‘The hidden truth’ is a pictorial reflection on a personal interpretation of three departing points: Ovidius’ Metamorfosen, French philosopher George Bataille’s concepts on Eros and Thanatos, and the introspective qualities of landscape.
