Nicoleta Moise: Memory of the World

Nicoleta Moise presents "Memory of the World — A Very Brief Selection". The point of departure for her ongoing project started in 2020, is the digital archive of "Memory of the World" programme. This global initiative was launched by UNESCO in 1992 to safeguard the documentary heritage of humanity against collective amnesia, climatic conditions, or deliberate destruction.

Due to the current travel restrictions, Moise will adapt her work to the online environment through a dedicated project website. The continuation of her research, both in image and text, will be updated weekly throughout the month of April on www.nicoletamoise.ro.

Nicoleta Moise (b. 1989, Romania) is an artist and researcher based in Bucharest. Her practice combines images, video, text and intuition to make visible intertwined histories or lesser known stories, which require time and longer, careful work. She is a co-founder of the intersectional feminist magazine CUTRA.

"Memory of the World — A Very Brief Selection" is the seventh project taking place at RAAT following an open call in 2020. RAAT is an open city lab in the centre of Antwerp, where new creative talent can develop and present their work. Initiated byAAIR.
