In six episodes, FOMU guide Karolien will guide you through the life and work of Vanfleteren. Every monday and friday (until april 10) we post a new episode of the virtual tour through the exhibition of Stephan Vanfleteren. His early works, the journalistic work, the Elvis project for which he traveled through America with Robert Hubert, the Belgicum series, his well-known portrait work and his most recent work that he made in his daylight studio are all featured.
You can follow new uploads of episodes via Instagramand Facebook, on Vimeoand on the FOMU-website.
Present is the renowned Belgian photographer Stephan Vanfleteren’s (°1969) first major retrospective. The general public knows him best for his evocative black-and-white portraits but in recent decades he has produced a wide range of journalistic, documentary and artistic work. This exhibition provides space for both his iconic images and his equally impressive, lesser-known photographs, which together illustrate the evolution of Vanfleteren’s oeuvre.
The exhibition started on October 25 and has attracted more than 125,000 visitors since its opening until March 12. Now that FOMU is closed to prevent the spread of the corona virus, we are bringing the exhibition to our visitors at home.
You can order the book Present in the FOMU webshop, shipping is free.
