MATĚJ PAVLÍK

Public Gathering

On March 20th at 8 PM, Czech artist Matěj Pavlík introduces current developments in his work during an informal and public gathering. The artist is intrigued by all sorts of 'acts from dissidents' such as the different forms they adapt, but also invisible gestures of protest, and mutual modes of collectivity. Pavlík's artistic practice continuously researches the concept of 'protest' by connecting independent images, experiences and events. During the gathering, Matěj Pavlík will reveal his fascination for a 17th century experiment called 'inner eye' and how this can be related to notions of authorship and internal processes of resistance. Being in the midst of curating the show 'Image Agitation: The Right to an Image', the artist-curator will also elaborate on the conception of this exhibition.
