The images made visible in Lotte Vanhamel's paintings have always existed. They are present within us. Yet they also belong to the quintessential depths of the earth. Lotte is gifted in evoking these images and materialising them in colour and form. Through this process, they transcend representation: the coulors and forms coincide with what had
previously been hidden. In addition to the paintings, Lotte also shows smaller work. It is characterised by geometry
and radiant colour., seemingly in contrast to the paintings, but drawn from the same source. It touches on a spiritual abstraction while remaining vital and sensual, close to our visible world.
