From its onset in 1968, De Zwarte Panter and Roger Van Akelyen (Antwerp, 1948) have worked together intensively. In the following decades, Van Akelyen has build up a personal body of work, introducing surreal elements in evocations of human needs and deficits, but equally of happiness. The current exhibition ‘Resumé’ displays a concise survey of his work as master-graphic artist, a draftsman, and a three-dimensional artist, including wonderful, sometimes hand colored, etchings, beautiful pastels, and surprising dioramas.
