The exhibition Short Memory offers a partial, selective archive of works by artists whose practice incorporates the archive in different ways, reevaluating it as a stock of images, a structure, a mechanism, or a form. As indicated in its title, Short Memory seeks to challenge the notion of perpetuated storage of historical signs, dealing with archiving information as a sort of negotiation and modification. Rather than a retroactive view of the past, the exhibition engages in an uncommon division between past, present, and future, turning indexes of time and place into a living material.
