The color violet is at one end of the spectrum of visible light, between blue light, which has a longer wavelength, and ultraviolet light, which has a shorter wavelength and is not visible to the human eye.

Violet is a space for contemporary art in Antwerp that offers a platform to artists whose work is action- or process-based. Within the walls of the old bakery shop in the Eugeen Joorsstraat, we invite viewers to an intimate, playful, and sometimes provocative experience. Besides exploring ways to engage viewers closely with the installations presented, Violet seeks to establish a platform for dialogue, discussion, and experimentation.

Founded in 2022 by Liesbet Grupping and Vildana Memic, Violet has been fostering artistic innovation and interaction since its inception.
