In recent decades, the Frans Masereel Centrum has become one of the most challenging and inspiring environments for contemporary artists to investigate printed matter in all its aspects, or to embrace it as part of a broader artistic practice. Critics, writers, curators and academics also use our facilities, to conduct theoretical research in the private context of an active arts center.

Every year, an international, intergenerational mix of around 50 artists and critics is selected by an external jury to stay and work in the Frans Masereel Centrum for 3 or 6 weeks. No prior knowledge of printmaking techniques is required.
