During the summer Lisse Declercq was invited to work on a large scale mural in the corridor of De Warande.
In her colorful works Declercq gives a new interpretation to art form of the genre-painting in which she balances between idealization and (hyper)realism.

The seductive and attractive figures in her oil paintings remind us of over-aestheticized images from advertising and mainstream media. She intentionally refers to these kind of disguised images that have become the norm on social media. The timeless medium that is painting has thus been given a very contemporary interpretation.
