Schönweger’s work explores humankind’s relationship to its surroundings, both on an architectural and social level. He is interested in the spectator’s direct response to architectural structures, conventions, deceptions, power structures and dynamics. At Lichtekooi Artspace, Schönweger will present the in-situ installation "Getting Better".

Leander Schönweger (b. 1986 in Italy, lives and works in Brussels and Vienna) studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and was a 2018 Laureate of the Higher Institute for Fine Arts (HISK) post-academic course in Ghent. His work was included in several group shows, including Chambre double, Les Tanneries, Amilly (2021), Open Skies, Wiels, Brussels (2019) and the 15th Istanbul Biennial (2017).
