MoMu Talks: Meryll Rogge

Meryll Rogge studied at the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, she worked for seven years in New York as Women’s Collection Designer at Marc Jacobs. She also held the title of Head of Women’s Design at Dries Van Noten for four years. In 2020 she launched her namesake label. In 2021 Rogge was awarded the Belgian Fashion Award for Emerging Talent of the Year. The year after, she was nominated for the LVMH Prize.

Meryll Rogge's unisex creations are striking interpretations of classic garments. Quality, surrealism, colour and deconstruction go hand in hand. For her 2023 Spring-Summer MADE ON EARTH BY HUMANS collection, she collaborated with socially critical artist Beni Bischof. Especially for MoMu, the duo is once again collaborating on an installation in which art meets fashion. This installation will be on show from 28 May in MoMu's collection presentation.

During this MoMu Talk, the designer gives an insight into her career and the fascinating story of how the collaboration with Beni Bischof came about. The talk is followed by a Q&A session.
