Frans Masereel Centrum is pleased to announce the annual call for applications for its 2024 Artist Residency Program in Kasterlee, Belgium.
International artists at all stages of their careers and across a wide array of disciplines from the visual arts are encouraged to apply for a five-week residency. There are four* different residency periods to choose from, between January and June 2024.
The focus of our Artist Residency Program lies on development and creation in one or more of our unique, professionally equipped printmaking workshops. Thanks to our experienced staff, and an introductory program full of demo’s, no prior knowledge of printmaking techniques is required. We explicitly welcome experimental and challenging proposals that are relevant to your artistic practice.
Our partially-funded Artist Residency Program includes accommodation, access to our workshops, technical support and a side program. Residents are encouraged to participate in an active dialogue with other residents, as well as with visiting tutors and our staff. We expect you to work autonomously and be able to realize your project independently.
Application deadline: May 22, 2023 (11 am, CET).

*Please note: due to construction works, beginning in mid-2024, we will only be able to accommodate a limited number of residents in 2024. We anticipate resuming our residency program in the fall of 2025.
