On 28 and 29 September, MoMu kicks off its autumn exhibition with a festive programme for all ages.
In 2024, it will be 75 years since the death of James Ensor. The Ensor Year pays tribute to the Belgian grandmaster – innovator, game-changer, inspirator and ... a complex personality. From September 2024, four Antwerp museums reveal ‘the man behind the masks’.
MoMu celebrates the painters of fashion: the artistry of make-up and hair artists, in a multimedia exhibition in which light, colour, art, fashion and make-up come together. 'Masquerade, Make-up & Ensor' investigates how closely intertwined make-up is with so many aspects of our being human.
You are invited to a festive opening weekend, jam-packed with activities for all ages. Get a taste of the new exhibition with free walk-in tours, Ensor-inspired face painting, live music, performances and a delicious family brunch. There is something for everyone on 28 and 29 September, see you soon!
